WRITING IDEAS:

When writing nonfiction, write the book proposal first. This is  a forty to seventy page document that includes your bio, marketing plan, book comps, chapter outlines, and a sample chapter. This is what agents and editors need to sell your book to a publisher. To understand the details of writing a proposal try reading Publish Your Nonfiction Book by Sharlene Martin and Anthony Flacco.

Q: Help! How can I get my horse to stop when I ask?

A: This is a respect issue, versus a stopping issue.  Work with your                                                                        horse on lead on the ground. To stop, stop your feet, say whoa, and                                                                       give a  tug on the halter in that order. Use business-like body language and use. only as much pressure as is needed to get the desired result. Repeat in a consistent and patient manner until your horse responds consistently and well. Then practice at the trot and over obstacles. When you get back on your horse, she should stop as well for you under saddle as she did on the ground.
